We were leaving for Singapore on 30 June. Besides the losses on time & money, we had to give up visiting some attractions in Hokkaido as time were running out. The travel insurance could only covered for travel delay of $100 for every 6 hours and not the rest. ANA issued the certification of delay to us and said they could not compensate our losses. During the Second World War, the Germans used air bridges on three major occasions: the Demyansk Pocket, the Battle of Stalingrad and the Kuban bridgehead. Not only that, our pre-booked rental car and optional tours for 2 days were not refundable either. Therefore, we wasted 2 nights' stay at Sapporo and not refundable. That delayed had affected our holiday vacation greatly as we only arrived Haneda at 2.15am on 26 June and no flights to go to Sapporo until the next day. When we arrived there, the ANA staff were busy handling and explaining to all the Japanese passengers in Japanese while the non Japanese passengers were left aside, don't know what to do? We had to approach the ANA staff by ourselves to find out what had happened instead. It was until 2.45am on 25 June, we were lead by the airport staff to another location in the transit area where the ANA staff were located. The airport staff called the ANA staff to come to make an explanation about the flight delay but no one turned up after several calls. The ANA staff did not come to explain to all the passengers what had happened and we were stranded at the boarding area for 4 hours as the flight supposed to depart at 2215 on 24 June 2017. In total, NH844 was delayed for 20 hrs 15mins. Our flight was delayed twice on 24 & 25 June respectively.
